There’s something special about stepping into a house with a newborn. When I go to meet a newborn client or even a friend who’s just had a baby, I honestly get butterflies as I walk to the door. It’s that anticipation and quiet excitement before meeting a brand new, precious soul…a new family member to love and cherish! I was so happy for this sweet mama and daddy…their first child…a daughter!!! I was met with proud smiles as they introduced me to their baby girl. She was absolutely beautiful with an amazing head of full dark hair and tiny little features. And oh, how they loved on her!! I could have stayed all day to capture the way they looked at the tiny, new love of their lives. Also, can I say that any family that gives their little one the hashtag #theheiress, is pretty darn cool?! 🙂 Thank you again for welcoming me into your home so I could create these memories for you and meet your little one. Clearly she is meant for big things!
She emailed me months ago asking about maternity and newborn photos and I have to say my heart jumped a bit. I love getting to be a part of the journey from bump to baby! (Here is this sweet mama’s maternity/family session.) Then seeing them again when their baby love is born…to be a witness to some of the first days as a bigger family together with the intense “I can’t believe how tired I am” all colliding with the “I can’t believe how much I love you!” Intense and beautiful! I truly feel privileged to capture these moments!! They pretty much adore their sweet “little muffin” and how incredibly precious is big brother?! Their awesome bookshelf made a pretty great backdrop too. Four beautiful people, inside and out! Thanks again, y’all!!
I had been dreaming of this session for weeks and couldn’t be happier with how these turned out! It was so wonderful to get to take our sweet boy out for some photos of him in his Halloween costume! It was my first time to really set things up to photograph him outside and since this place is a bit magical to begin with, you can imagine how giddy I was getting to create these memories with our baby love. One of the best parts about this photo shoot though, is my husband!! He earned some serious brownie points for coming straight after work to help me and for carrying this (not so light) hay bale all the way to where I wanted it. Also, since Owen is still a bit wobbly sitting, Chris was actually down behind the bale holding onto him to make sure he wouldn’t fall! In the dirt…in his work clothes…Oh, if you could only see the behind the scenes of some sessions. Yep, this was all made possible by beautiful lighting, a sweet baby, and an amazingly patient husband who helps his photographer wife with her crazy ideas. This session was all about Owen, but Chris and I snuck in there for a few (hence my non-photo ready hair)…but I have to say I just adore the way Owen is looking at his daddy in that one shot!!! I just melt watching those two together!
Enjoy these photos of our precious pumpkin, and Happy Belated Halloween, y’all!
Three little girls!! This home is blessed with the sweetest little ones, and their newest princess was incredibly precious! I know how wonderful sisters are, coming from a family of three girls myself, so I was so glad they asked me to do her newborn shoot. This session took place when I was 36 weeks pregnant and proved to be quite a challenge since for my newborn sessions I am typically hauling props in and out of a home, down on the ground or up on a step-ladder to get the perfect angle. Whew! Difficult but fun and I just loved the images of their newest sweet girl. Thanks for being patient, too since I am blogging this just a little bit late. Also, included is one of my favorites in the category of guess-what-my-daddy-does-so-don’t-mess-with-me. (:
